College is a new and challenging experience and can often put emotional, mental and/or physical strain on incoming students (Sax, Bryant & Gilmartin, 2002). Students may be affected differently based on the situations they encounter. Socialization and campus involvement can be a key factor in helping students overcome these issues. According to Pritchard and Wilson (2003), studies have shown that students who have a higher sense of emotional, mental and physical well-being are more likely to succeed in college.
