According to the laws of the State of Washington, school districts, administrators, and teachers are liable for all of their torts. Since principals are not immune from tort suits, the purposes of this study were (1) to suggest measures to minimize exposure of principals to tort suits, and (2) to suggest measures of protection against such suits.

Knowledge of these attitudes could be of considerable value to a school administrator when making decisions, evaluating his present program, and establishing school procedures concerning the aforementioned areas.
