In the summer of 2020, the world watched as Black communities and allies responded to the murder of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. An intensification of social and racial justice awareness provoked many entities like higher education institutions (HEI) to evaluate how they support marginalized people and update their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) plans. In an attempt to maintain excellence, many HEIs implement DEI plans through top-down methods where high-level administrators target recruitment and retention, campus climate, community engagement, and curriculum. Collaborative lesson planning is an effective teacher training approach for improving teaching skills. One critical challenge is how to ensure effective collaboration and interaction among teachers. This study attempts to address this issue by proposing a pre-service teacher professional development model, Shared Collective Lesson Planning (SCLP). To illustrate how this model can be implemented, 24 student teachers were invited to participate in the SCLP activities. Their behaviors and strategies performed were presented and highlighted. Additionally, pre-service teachers are required to be competent in technological knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and content knowledge (TPACK) for successful pedagogical technology integration. This is a qualitative case study that examined four institutions of higher education in New York to assess how well they have done at implementing a quality standard established by the Commission on Accelerated Programs (CAP) in 2011 and 2019 calling for accelerated adult programs to incorporate adult learning theory within their curricula and instructional practices. Data collection consisted of interviews with faculty and staff, documentation reviews, and classroom observations. Internationalization of the Curriculum is critical to this preparation and equity in higher education. Over the past decades, universities have relied on outbound and inbound student mobility to internationalize their institutions, the curriculum, the faculty, and student learning. However, 90% of U.S. students neither study nor intern abroad. Of the 10% who do go abroad, very few are underrepresented, Pell-eligible, or post-traditional students. The United States continues to be a highly racialized society. As a result, race remains a predictor of educational achievement for students in the PK-12 public education system. Concurrently, racial color-blindness continues to dominate educational institutions, as teachers--particularly White teachers--often feel uncomfortable and ill prepared to talk with students about race. One approach that educators have developed to combat color-blindness in schools is anti-racist curriculum. This paper explores the relationship between emergent, child-driven learning and the structured curricula of a special education program. This exploratory study compares the opportunities to learn mathematics intended and enacted between countries with high and low student average performance levels, according to the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). It analyzes the differences in OTL in relation to some of the factors that influence teachers’ instructional decisions. The analysis contributes to the knowledge about teachers’ role in the enactment of mathematics curricular policy and that of curricular governance.

History Through Literature is a homeschooling history curriculum for ages 10-12, or grades five and six, designed specifically with the needs of New York City's homeschooling community in mind. Using the historical novel Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson as a framework, the curriculum covers a variety of themes and topics within the context of the American Revolution in New York City from 1775 to 1777. Following a chronologically linear path through six learning units, the History Through Literature makes connections between true historical events and the fictional story of Anderson's heroine, Isabel, an enslaved girl determined to claim her freedom.
