In a quest to identify ways to support and enhance new teachers’ instructional practices, varied types of new teacher induction mentoring programs have been established. In this qualitative study of new teachers in a suburban public school district, this researcher identified the influence of mentors, trained in reflective dialogic conversation, on new teachers during their 1st year of new teacher induction. Social media is increasingly becoming an important tool mainly for communication. However, organizations and institutions are embracing the platforms for marketing. Given the simultaneous rise in rates of autism and the expectations for school-based inclusion of students with disabilities, research targeting inclusive practices continues to be a priority. Researchers have examined the attitudes and perspectives of general education teachers and best practice for including individuals with high functioning autism spectrum disorders. An Examination Of A Self-Determination Strategy On Academic Engagement For Students With Emotional Support Needs At Risk Of Dropout, Edward Sczesniak

A multiple baseline across teacher design was used to examine the effectiveness of a self-determination self-regulation intervention to address the academic engagement and performance of students with emotional disabilities. The intervention, Plan, Work, Evaluate, Adjust, was introduced into secondary emotional support classrooms in the following order: Science, English, Social Studies, and Math. Dependent variables were on-task behavior, work completion, and redirections.
There were four female participants in either tenth or eleventh grade. All received instruction in emotional support classrooms for core content instruction.
