Increasing Verbal Participation And Self-Concept Through Teaching Across The Curriculum, Linda A. Wolfe

The high percentage of students lacking verbal participation in schools and experiencing a low self-concept in an above achieving third grade class was addressed by the implementation of teaching strategies across the curriculum. The target group of 25 students was involved in social studies, science, and expressive language activities that were designed to increase verbal participation and self-concept. In addition, the target group engaged in weekly self-concept activities with the school counselor.
