Guided by signaling theory as a framework, the study explored the mismatch between institutional, student, and employer expectations of skills and readiness for the labor market. This applied dissertation was designed to investigate student responses to three different instructional strategies used to fulfill level I fieldwork requirements: traditional in-clinic rotation, a combination of virtual simulation and traditional in-clinic rotations, and virtual simulation. A multi-decade occupational therapy (OT) fieldwork shortage was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, in which OT education programs struggled to provide accreditation-required clinical education. Virtual simulation programs were utilized to fulfill some requirements, particularly more introductory-level fieldwork. These phenomena have left teachers searching for timely methods to perform formative assessment or assessment for learning activities. The purpose of this study is to follow the role that vendors of academic, instructional, educational, and communications technologies play in exchanges with their purchasing partners to promote the sale of educational technologies for medical academics. This study used a qualitative methodology through an Interpretative phenomenological (IP) approach. An IP approach explores vendor knowledge, background, and experiences related to the commercial exchanges of telehealth and telemedicine technology sellers in the United States. Interviews were conducted with sixteen vendors involved in telemedicine\telehealth sales throughout the United States. Data obtained from interviews provided the findings for this study.

Decreasing hours dedicated to teaching anatomy courses and declining use of human cadavers have spurred the need for innovative solutions in teaching anatomy in medical schools. Advancements in virtual reality (VR), 3D visualizations, computer graphics, and medical graphic images have enabled the development of highly interactive 3D virtual applications. Over recent years, variations of interactive systems on computer-mediated environments have been used as supplementary resource for learners.
