Many new technologies are available to the Physical Education teacher, yet few are commonly used. This project contains findings from a review of literature regarding Physical Education technology use in today's schools. The benefits of balancing the physical, mental, and psychological well being of adolescents, was researched. The research suggests that yoga is a discipline that can greatly enhance the Washington State Health and Fitness Essential Academic Leaming Requirements, which are designed to give the student skills to Jive a healthy and active life. Lesson plans with illustrations have been created, which can assist educators in incorporating yoga into the existing physical education curriculum. Instructions are given on how to use the lesson plans, how to adapt them, and suggestions for educators to create their own lesson plans.

The purpose of this project was to develop a model curriculum for selected physical education adaptations for student with special needs, in alignment with Washington Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALR's). To accomplish this purpose, a review of selected literature was conducted. Additionally, related information from selected sources was obtained and analyzed. The model curriculum was developed for implementation in the Ellensburg School District in the 2002-2003 school year.

A middle school physical education program designed to integrate fitness skills and lifetime activities into the physical education curriculum was implemented. Ways to improve fitness, increase participation, improve skills, provide competition and cooperation, and develop knowledge and values related to physical activity were researched and implemented. A curriculum guide from first quarter through fourth quarter was provided with expected student outcomes identified. An explanation of the rationale for conducting each of the separate activities in any modified format was stated. A handbook of fitness and lifetime activities was provided as a resource for other physical education teachers.

This study utilized 90 college women from Central Washington University to determine if there are significant differences in strength scores between Rowney Knees-on Push-up Method and three body position variations and cadences. The main outcome of this research reflected two significant differences between Rowney's method and body position and cadences. No significant differences were found between experimental body position variations and cadences. The results of this study confirm the hypothesis that changes in push-up technique may produce significant differences in strength scores.

This paper presents a survey study of the present status of scouting in Washington, Class AA, high school wrestling. The study through the use of a questionnaire and personal interview, was designed to reveal the experience level of coaches, the use of scouting, and the method of scouting in Washington State. Complex chi square was used to evaluate the relationship between coaching experience and the use of scouting. The relationship did not prove significant at the five percent level.

The purpose of this study is to develop norms for the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test in each somatotype classification as determined by the Heath-Carter anthropometric measurement. At the present time, norms exist only for the group as a whole which is comprised mainly of mesomorphs. This, of course, results in a great many endomorphs who score poorly, or not at all, and some ectomorphs who also do poorly. It is proposed that endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs should each have their own norms.
