Critical issues that Bill Harley discusses such as the lack of value in management research output can possibly be amplified by the diffusion of the same research practices, goals, and norms around the world and in Asia. Although the issues raised by Bill Harley touch on three levels - university, business school, and the management field - this rejoinder focus on research at Asian business schools in general and also specifically research in the management field to share an Asian perspective.

The Rhetorical Situation Meets Adult Education: A Public Speaking Workshop For B-School Graduate Students, Lindsey Ives, Janet Tinoco, Sally Blomstrom

Extant research indicates that there continues to be a gap between employer expectations and the oral presentation skills of B-school graduate students. In order to address this gap, the authors undertook a three-year effort to research, develop, and administer a public speaking workshop focused on preparing new business graduate students to meet industry demands for presentation skills and strategies. Survey and focus group data informed several revisions to the workshop plan.
