The purpose of this correlational study was to investigate factors that impact the implementation and successful adoption of blended learning instructional practices in secondary classrooms in public schools in the United States. This study examined the relationship between social desirability for the implementation and successful adoption of blended learning instruction and teacher efficacy in secondary teachers. The theories guiding the research were Projection Theory from Holmes as the theory relates to social desirability and Social Cognitive Theory from Bandura as the theory relates to teacher efficacy. Technology is rapidly advancing and changing how education is delivered. Blended learning, an emerging teaching style in flipped classrooms, incorporates technology in the form of online supplemental materials accessible to students prior to attending a traditional class. Incorporating technology into the learning process has been proposed as an effective way to meet the educational needs of the iGeneration. Learning a programming language typically involves acquisition of new vocabulary, punctuation, and grammatical structures to communicate with a computer. In other words, learning a programming language is like learning a human language. A recent study showed that programmers use language regions of the brain when understanding source code and found little activation in other regions of the brain devoted to mathematical thinking. Even though programming code involved mathematical operations, conditionals, and loop iterations, researchers found that programming had less in common with mathematics and more in common with human language.
