Instruction Matters Purdue Academic Course Transformation (IMPACT) is not only a successful course redesign program but it also fosters institutional change through collaboration between faculty and support units campus-wide. Faculty participate in a structured faculty development program and are further supported in their redesign process by a team of staff members from multiple units across campus, including the Libraries, the Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE), Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP), and Purdue Distance Education (PEC).

In recent years online education doctorates have become more prevalent to accommodate the growing need for distance academic preparation. Due to the newness of these degree programs, there is a dearth of information in the literature on learner perspectives of effective online teaching and learning strategies. Mulder asserts that as teacher educators move away from stand-alone technology courses towards the integration approach, clear descriptions for what knowledge and skills pre-service teacher must develop are needed. and once decided, faculty in teacher preparation programs will need to clearly articulate an approach for integrating technology into the program. He goes on to explain the TPACK framework, which currently serves as a preeminent model for exploring technology integration in education.

When ISTE began developing educational technology standards for PK-12 students in the early 1990s, it was ahead of its time. The organization saw the need to prepare students for the future, and it invested in standards as a way to give schools a clear path to staying relevant. The future that ISTE foresaw has definitely arrived, but it's not standing still. To ensure that the standards remain useful for students and educators around the world, ISTE has submitted them to a rigorous updating and revision process.

Autism is a learning and social disorder that has seen increased diagnosis within school-age populations. As educators grapple with overwhelmed and understaffed classrooms, finding ways to address the educational needs of this particular population can be very challenging. However, technology may serve to create alternative “virtual” world opportunities and thus, begin to expand learning possibilities for these students.
