Within the field of occupational therapy, the issue of transitioning from an entry-level master's degree to an entry-level doctorate degree is under debate. As such, it is important to investigate the impact of the transition in order to help make educated decisions about the potential future of the profession.This study analyzed retrospective data collected from six cohorts at one Midwestern university to analyze the impact of the transition to an entry-level doctorate on diversity, admission and matriculation rates, and fieldwork reservations. This interview with academic librarian, Lauren Hays, offers insight into the relationship between librarians and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). In this interview, Ms. Hays discusses her doctoral work regarding academic instruction librarians’ involvement with SoTL and how it affects their teacher identities and instructional strategies. Hazards To The Doctoral Journey: Guidance For New Doctoral Students, Stacy Loyd, Jenni Harding-Dekam, Boni Hamilton

Doctoral students enter an intense program of study that often bears little resemblance to prior educational experiences. Students are often surprised by the emotional and cognitive toll the program takes: loss of identity, feelings of isolation and incompetence, and concerns about meeting the academic demands of the program. The best defense against these barriers is to know what they are how to overcome them. Recognizing that beginner doctoral students may lack experiences with scholarly papers, the authors provide an easy-to-read autoethnographic case study that explores their own doctoral experiences.
