Language learning is a long process that involves the learner as a whole person. Learner`s cognitive, physical, socio-emotional condition, motivation, attitude, aptitude, characteristics, learning style and so many other things influence the language learning process and makes the learning path different for different learners. The study of computer modeling at various stages of the educational process - from school to university is considered, competencies acquired by students in the study of computer mathematical modeling are formulated and the need for further development of competencies acquired at school is substantiated. A new approach to teaching students of mathematical directions is proposed preparation of mathematics and computer science by means of computer modeling. This technique is built on the principles of the competence approach, interdisciplinary connections of the educational disciplines of mathematics and computer science, contributes to the formation of research competence.
