Although collegiate athletics i only a small portion of Title IX, it has been the most widely discussed and controversial part of the law to implement. It seems that colleges and universities have had the most trouble complying with the specifics of the law. However, they have made great strides since the days of the predominantly male world of collegiate sports in the past. This paper examines historical controversies, and takes a closer look at the impact of Title IX at Western Michigan University.

A Comparison Of Two Arts Programs Implemented In Two Elementary Schools In Hamilton County, Tennessee, Jayne Denton

A wide variety of theoretical backgrounds can exist between two different art programs. This paper observes and compares two different art programs that are currently being implemented in two elementary schools of the Hamilton County Department of Education. The theoretical background of the first program, Arts Integration (AI), promotes the teaching art in combination with other subjects. The theoretical background of the second program, Discipline-Based Art Education(DBAE), promotes the teaching of art as its own subject area.
