The purpose of this study is to determine if any of these four factors (intelligence quotient, mental age, chronological age, and arithmetical ability) are valid measures for prognosticating success in first-year bookkeeping. The bookkeeping students for three consecutive years (1950-51, 1951-52, 1952-53) were grouped together and their achievement in relation to IQ, CA and MA was compared to the achievement of the 1953-54 bookkeeping students through use of scattergrams, by percentages for the entire group and percentages by classification (sophomore, junior and senior).
