Creativity is an ability that can be taught and learned. This project intends to encourage the teaching of creativity through the use of technology. It was designed to build a space in the virtual world OpenQwaq, where creativity classes can be delivered to students all over the world. The goal of this project was to help a music educator better incorporate creativity into his or her music classroom. The project touches on music in relation to intelligence and creativity, as well as emphasis on how to generate a climate that is conducive to creativity. The lesson plan portion provides a template and examples using the Torrance Incubation Model. The lessons can be used for any age level. The lesson plans do not include the incorporation of creative thinking skills, and I encourage others to find ways to weave them into their lesson plans.

This paper outlines the methods used to design and implement a course on creativity as it can be applied in the school classroom. It outlines specific steps taken and topics covered during a nine hour creativity course taught through the Teacher Center of an area school district.
