Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive

The inappropriate behavior of autistic students and teachers confusion, as to handling the students, was addressed by the design of an observable measure for teacher usage of structure and consistency in working with autistic students. The main thrust of this paper was to provide support to teachers so that they would handle students in a consistent manner in a structured classroom setting. Methods used were daily observation and meetings with feedback provided to teachers in a positive manner. The subjects responded favorably to the methods involved and implemented a structured and consistent environment for their students.
