“Future Teachers of Color: A Documentary” explores the lack of diversity within education and provides a solution. The paper begins by explaining the background of the issue through statistics collected from the United States Department of Education and Michigan Education Data. Once the background has been established, the paper uses peer-reviewed articles to examine the specifics of the issue and its impact. Afterwards, the solution to the problem is introduced by utilizing other outside sources and transitioning into the story of Future Teachers of Color (FTC), a registered student organization at Western Michigan University.

This database is a functional database for the WMU college of engineering and applied sciences’ recruiters to organize their data on STEM teachers from the feeder high schools of WMU. Since the onset of the Industrial Revolution, human activities have substantially harmed the biosphere and, if continued, pose a substantial risk to life on Earth. Recognizing this, educated people have advocated widespread adoption of sustainable practices and, in particular, have increased the amount of sustainability efforts associated with higher education. The International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, established in 2000, is devoted to such practices. For my honors thesis, I examined articles published in the journal from 2010 through 2019 to determine the countries, and the institutions within those countries, that were the primary contributors to the journal. …

Understanding how the structure of a group of students impacts how they work together has always been an interesting concept for me, as sometimes my teachers strategically placed certain students with other students, and sometimes we got to choose our seats in class.
