Regardless of the size, the school district has some person who is responsible for keeping the clerical and financial records of the school district. This position is very frequently designated as the office of the clerk of the board of education. When the efficient clerk assumes the clerical and financial duties of the school district the superintendent is relieved of endless details, which allows him greater opportunity to perform those functions for which he is qualified, thus a smoother and a more efficient school system is the result.
