Purpose

The purpose of this study was to determine the ongoing misconceptions about mutations, an area of rising public interest, among graduate nursing students.

Design

Using a prospective cohort design, graduate students entering a public university in the Fall of 2014 were followed to graduation in the Fall of 2016.

Methods

Knowledge of mutations was assessed with an anonymous pre-test and post-test using three items from the Genomic Nursing Concept Inventory - 2011 beta version developed by Ward. Teaching and learning anatomy in a DPT program poses a challenge to students and faculty because of the volume of material needed as foundational information for a PT curriculum. The purpose of this study was to explore the implementation of five life skill components of Brolin’s (1979) Life Centered Career Education (LCCE) program in Basic Education classrooms in school districts in the province of British Columbia (BC), Canada. Researchers confirmed that the use of feedback assists with the improvement of students’ confidence and performance. Multiple studies focus on the provision and acceptance of feedback; however, it was not known if, or how, students internalized the feedback to apply it successfully.
