This investigation utilized a recent concept developed by researchers and theoreticians studying nonverbal behavior--the contextual framework. Instruments of demonstrated reliability were employed to record simultaneous verbal and nonverbal data within the selected contextual framework of student-initiated questions. Data was collected at the University of Northern Iowa; Malcolm Price Laboratory School. The study sample included 15 teachers from grades one through twelve and 60 pupils. Pupils were placed in categories by their teachers: (1) accepting; (2) concerned; (3) indifferent; and (4) rejecting. The paper reviews about 25 major studies printed since 1920; and in turn; these refer to some 75 other studies about rural churches; their location; numbers; ministers; denominational arrangements; and supporting population per church on a county level. On the role of rural social science in Theological education; one study reports that the pastor is not only a man of God but a man of knowledge; not only in theological but in all fields of study. The research project was designed to provide data pertaining to performance tasks in specific occupations in various areas of vocational/technical education. The data presented in the document is intended to be used to develop appropriate objectives and curricular content to assist in the preparation of individuals entering the specific photo-offset lithography occupations of layout man; paste-up man; lithographic cameraman; stripper; platemaker; and offset pressman.
