Many educators are trying to figure out how to assist undocumented students. This presentation helps identify issues that others are facing with this group of students and some approaches that can be used to better serve this population. In order to fully understand such challenges and needs, schools must focus on defining an overall vision of college-and career-readiness. This session discussed the different aspects of building a college and career ready culture in your school and district. During a time when the U.S. trails in college degree attainment, it is imperative for school districts, higher education institutions, educational agencies and families to be aware of programs that work. This panel will discuss TRiO programs, who they are and how they help students from sixth grade through graduate school to earn the degree(s) they seek. The learning outcomes for this presentation are as follows: *Reconceptualize identity development to be more inclusive of differences within and across identity categories such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, class, ability and religion. *Learn strategies to enhance the quality of the learning environment within *Explore with colleagues the way in which we can effectively create or build multiracial/multiple identity communities while also supporting students individually. *Learn methods to integrate research, practice, self reflection and professional development to best serve students and our profession.

At the Counselor Roundtable Session, held on Tuesday, January 24th at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel, attendees were presented, in no particular order, with a list of ten “Hot Topics” to discuss. In the interest of time, attendees voted for the five topics they were most interested in discussing and those are listed below the master list, in order of interest level. Each topic was discussed for only 10 minutes with participants suggesting strategies/solutions. When possible, the person providing the idea/resource is listed by name and school.
