This report examines the cost effectiveness of the Marchus School's 599/1261 Project, one of two programs funded by the State of California, that established an inclusive education program for 17 students with serious emotional disturbances at risk for nonpublic school placements. The project teaches academic, social, and conflict resolution skills by using a social cognitive approach that fosters healthy emotional development and academic achievement. The active support and participation of each student's family is also encouraged. If we understand history as a field constituted by a type of research and inquiry that concerns itself with human action in the past and is based on the interpretation of evidence, regardless of whether positivist or interpretive methods are used, then it can be said that historical works on Hadhramaut and its diaspora have been written. These works can be divided in broad terms into the two general categories of Arab and Western historiography. Se revisan las políticas de educación superior de varios países de la región latinoamericana durante el periodo de 1960 a 1989. Se hace notar la importancia de las opciones de régimen político sobre la definición y orientación de dichas políticas. Se describen algunas pautas de convergencia entre los sistemas nacionales de educación superior de la región en el periodo, y se apuntan, asimismo, las diferencias más significativas en la comparación.
