This applied project addresses the issues related to at risk youth turning to the Internet as a means to obtain their high school diplomas. A review of literature examines the pros and cons of the virtual high schools, motivational theory, how to apply motivational techniques to the online setting, and methods that can be employed by online instructors to increase learner motivation and participation.
