In recent years there has been much improvement in the quality of school buildings, equipment, and supplies . Qualifications of administrators, supervisors, teachers, and almost all other employees have been advanced. Requirements and standards for custodians have begun to show a trend upward . In recent years improvement in the quality of school buildings, equipment and supplies, qualifications of administrators, supervisors, teachers and almost all other employees have been advanced. Likewise requirements and standards for school janitors have begun or are increasing. Janitor-Engineer schools found within the borders of the United States, with special emphasis on the schools of Kansas, represent the scope of this study.
