Exploring The Implementations Of Hidden Disability Assistance Program In Australian Airports, Aliyu Mohammed Tata, Dr Matthew Ebbatson, Prof Christopher Fluke
Exploring The Implementations Of Hidden Disability Assistance Program In Australian Airports, Aliyu Mohammed Tata, Dr Matthew Ebbatson, Prof Christopher Fluke
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
A small but increasing number of airports have implemented a hidden disability assistance program (HDAP) and issued sunflower lanyards to allow airport staff to recognize their travelers who have a hidden disability (HD) and may require special needs transiting through airport terminals. Airports employees are required to become aware of the challenges that travelers with an HD may face to provide appropriate support to meet their needs. A vital part of the overall program is the provision of training to airport ground staff so they may render appropriate and effective assistance. Several studies have investigated the challenges airline travelers with …
Methodology For Convergence Of The Training Program With The Professional Activities Of Aviation Specialists, Zair Ziyaevich Shamsiev
Methodology For Convergence Of The Training Program With The Professional Activities Of Aviation Specialists, Zair Ziyaevich Shamsiev
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The method of developing curricula for training aviation specialists for civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is analyzed. It is substantiated that it does not sufficiently take into account the labor market requirements for the composition and content of academic disciplines. An overview of foreign experience in bridging the gap between educational programs and the workplace is given. A method based on a statistical analysis of civil aviation regulations is recommended.
Digitalization Of Educational And Methodological Support For The Training Of Aviation Dispatchers, Zair Ziyaevich Shamsiev
Digitalization Of Educational And Methodological Support For The Training Of Aviation Dispatchers, Zair Ziyaevich Shamsiev
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The tasks of improving the educational process of training civil aviation dispatchers on the basis of the development and implementation of digital teaching aids are considered. Legislative and regulatory documents are accepted as an object of digitalization. The end result of the research is expressed in the provision of the educational process with a special electronic educational complex, which has the functions of providing the necessary information and conducting practical exercises to deepen, consolidate and control knowledge in the field of aviation documents.
Aviation Maintenance Instructional Design: How To Teach The Millennial And Gen-Z Cohorts, Danita Baghdasarin
Aviation Maintenance Instructional Design: How To Teach The Millennial And Gen-Z Cohorts, Danita Baghdasarin
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The next two decades of air travel will see an increase in passenger demand and advances in aircraft technologies and infrastructure. Future aviation maintenance technicians will work in a highly technical and demanding environment, and their training must account for these challenges and generational characteristics. This paper discusses trends that will shape the work environment and characteristics of millennials and Gen-Z and makes recommendations for training the next cohort of aviation maintenance technicians.
Big Five Technologies In Aeronautical Engineering Education: Scoping Review, Ruth Martinez-Lopez
Big Five Technologies In Aeronautical Engineering Education: Scoping Review, Ruth Martinez-Lopez
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The constant demands that technology creates in aerospace engineering also influence education. The identification of the technologies with practical application in aerospace engineering is of current interest to decision makers in both universities and industry. A social network approach enhances this scoping review of the research literature to identify the main topics using the Big Five technologies in aerospace engineering education. The conceptual structure of the dataset (n=447) was analyzed from different approaches: at macro-level, a comparative of the digital technology identified by cluster analysis with the number of co-words established in 3 and 8 and, a keyword central structure …
Flight Simulator Fidelity, Training Transfer, And The Role Of Instructors In Optimizing Learning, Paul L. Myers Iii, Arnold W. Starr, Kadie Mullins
Flight Simulator Fidelity, Training Transfer, And The Role Of Instructors In Optimizing Learning, Paul L. Myers Iii, Arnold W. Starr, Kadie Mullins
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
Simulators have been integrated into flight training at various levels for decades, increasing in utility as they increased in fidelity. Today, practically all levels of qualification in passenger-carrying commercial airliners can be obtained entirely in the simulator, with the first experience in the aircraft on a revenue-producing flight. Flight training in the U.S. is a tightly controlled, highly regulated process overseen by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It is also a very successful one; commercial aviation maintains a remarkable safety record. To that end, pilot training has been studied and analyzed extensively over the years, and as to the focus …
A Usability Study For Electronic Flight Bag (Efb) Flight Planning Applications On Tablet Devices For Ab-Initio Pilots, Jeff Schwartzentruber
A Usability Study For Electronic Flight Bag (Efb) Flight Planning Applications On Tablet Devices For Ab-Initio Pilots, Jeff Schwartzentruber
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The proliferation of mobile technology has prompted the use of tablet devices in the cockpit and during ground operations in general aviation. Due to the increase in affordable and reliable hardware (i.e. iPads etc.), the development of pilot-specific software has led to the creation of a commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS), electronic flight bag (EFB) market. EFBs have many advantages, such as reducing the space requirements for flight documents, enabling faster searching and indexing of files, providing useful tools for flight planning, and providing automatic updates. The increase in availability of mobile technology and flight applications has allowed general aviation enthusiast and ab-initio …
Industry In Motion: Pilot Study On Instructor And Management Perceptions Of New Hire Pilot Technical And Professional Preparation, Nicholas D. Wilson, Shayne A. Daku
Industry In Motion: Pilot Study On Instructor And Management Perceptions Of New Hire Pilot Technical And Professional Preparation, Nicholas D. Wilson, Shayne A. Daku
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
Each new generation entering the workforce follows a unique path preparing them for success in their respective industry. A myriad of factors influence this transitional process including advancements in technology, economic and cultural factors as well as characteristics common to each generation. This process of training in technical and professional knowledge is uniquely important in the transition into the airline industry. This pilot study focused on collecting and evaluating the perceptions of management and instructors in a regional airline training environment as they trained new hire pilots from day 1 of Company Indoctrination to completion of Operating Experience (OE). This …
The Military Learner: The Acceptance Of New Training Technology For C-130 Aircrews, Michael Hathaway, David Cross
The Military Learner: The Acceptance Of New Training Technology For C-130 Aircrews, Michael Hathaway, David Cross
International Journal of Aviation, Aeronautics, and Aerospace
The problem in this qualitative embedded single-case study was that business and military organizations have shrinking budgets, which has caused conflicting priorities for training funds. This has forced training managers to develop alternative instructional programs to reduce costs, which sometimes means replacing people with technology. To be useful, the new technology must be accepted and used by learners. During military training, certain programs require learners to use a new technology despite the possible lack of acceptance of that technology. Researchers do not know how military learners accept new technology that is mandatory to use. The purpose of this case study …
