Teachers have the opportunity to become leaders who shape, alter and foster their students' social and academic life. The student population of late has emerged as diverse in culture, needs and learning ability. It has become increasingly more important for a teacher to understand the student as "a whole," since it often pertains to the student's learning capability and growth as a person.
