Perceptions Of Nature-Based Educators: A Phenomenological Study, Jessica D. Mashburn

The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the perceptions of practicing nature-based educators and to find how classroom educators can become skilled in providing students with opportunities to learn in nature. In the study, there were 13 participants who represented a variety of individuals, with impressive educational credentials, who are currently employed or volunteering with a nature-based education organization. The data were collected through an intensive literature review, participant interviews, and field observations within two nature-based education organizations. Student Perceptions Toward Intentional Empathy Curriculum In The High School English Classroom, Heather Thompson Hooks

The purpose of this study was to describe high school students’ perceptions of intentional empathy curriculum in northwest Arkansas. In the study, the research participants were in their junior or senior year of high school. Using standard open-ended interviews, the eight student participants were asked a series of questions related to the four overarching research questions. This method allowed the researcher to categorize data along themes of teachers, tasks, classmates, and classroom environment. Over the last 62 years, mathematics reform has occurred due to a political push after results from a major survey or report were released stating that the United States scored lower than other countries. With each reform effort, teaching methods were changed to match the new initiative. Math curriculum was a key point in each of these reform efforts. In 2015, Arkansas adopted ACT Aspire as the statewide assessment, and in 2017 Arkansas adopted Arkansas State Standards. Although Arkansas adopted ACT Aspire and Arkansas State Standards, Arkansas does not require school districts to adopt a curriculum. The purpose of this …
