This poster session represents an ethnographic study of a hybrid foreign language class, focusing on the challenges created by students’ multiliteracy practices. Students range from high schoolers enrolled in dual programs, to heritage speakers, to adults who look for a career change. Reaching such a diverse group of students can be challenging but challenges create Third Spaces where learning is expanded and literacies improved (Smagorinsky, 2021; Gutierrez, 2011; Hulme et al., 2009; Lynch, 2008).

This quantitative study will examine the levels of statistics anxiety among 356 graduate students in Saudi Arabia. The study will also assess a theoretical model which proposes that attitudes toward statistics, statistics self-efficacy and previous statistics experience predict statistics anxiety. Results will indicate statistics anxiety levels and show its predictors.

This study examines the influence of ASD-specific training or professional development, peer observations, feedback from consultation/collaboration and teacher attitudes on general education teacher’s self-efficacy beliefs for educating students with ASD, as well as whether knowledge mediates the effect of professional development on teacher self-efficacy. It is hypothesized that the proposed theoretical model of teacher self-efficacy for educating students with ASD will fit an empirical model based on collected data. Data from 536 participants have been collected and are being analyzed. Preliminary results suggest that the hypothesized model does not fit the empirical model. Abstract: With limited staffing in cataloging and a robust global collection policy, original cataloging in many different languages is a huge challenge. One tool I use is Google Translate. This poster illustrates how this has benefited my cataloging in languages I do not know.

Goal: Share a practical tool every cataloger can use.

What qualities make a good advisor? Which advising strategies increase persistence and vocational satisfaction? This presentation will share findings from recent Andrews Advisor Evaluation Surveys, the first Andrews Alumni Advisor Reflection Survey and the presenters’ advising experience at Andrews University. The impact of developmental and servant leadership approaches to academic advising at undergraduate and graduate levels will be shared, along with specific strategies that support students identified as probationary, underprepared, online, and those with documented disabilities.
