Knowledge transfer is a key component of realizing our mission. In June 2016, President Susan J. Hunter charged Provost Jeffrey E. Hecker with convening a group to review UMaine’s existing policies, processes, and structures with regard to knowledge transfer and commercialization. The President’s goal is for UMaine to move to an “enhanced level of leadership focus and modernized policies, processes, and structure”.

The Blue Sky Strategic Plan’s Pathway 5 is entitled “Restoring the Dream: Renewing Pride and Stewardship of Place”. As the Pathway 5 Chair, Stewart Harvey, Executive Director of Facilities and Capital Management Services, presented to the University community a review of initiatives and accomplishments related to Pathway 5. Faculty Forum : Think 30 And Beyond-Next Steps In Support Of Student Success, University Of Maine Office Of Academic Affairs

This forum focused on progress made and future directions in support of student success and completion. The Provost provided an update on work to date including some early indicators and metrics. Provost Hecker also shared ideas regarding future initiatives aimed at increasing student success and completion. Other complementary initiatives currently underway were highlighted. This Forum provided an opportunity to update the UMaine community and gather feedback.
