During the 1976-77 school term a study to evaluate the Cissna Park, Unit Six high school occupational education program was undertaken with the cooperation of the administration, guidance counselor, citizens advisory council, and occupational teachers.
PURPOSE: The study was entered into in order to determine future goals and directions for the programs involved. The period of time in which the study was conducted showed declining enrollments in the school district as well as serious financial problems. New information was needed to provide a basis for decisions the board of education would be dealing with concerning programs and staff.

Objectives of the Field Study
- To develop an in-service workshop to disseminate the Career Exploration Occupational Information for the Junior High/Middle School, A Planning Curriculum Guide, to administrators and instructors in junior high/middle schools.
- To develop an in-service package which would be used during the DAVTE workshop which in turn could be used by the participant to in-service personnel in their own LEA workshop.
- To conduct four workshops within the state which would both in-service junior high/middle school personnel and disseminate the planning curriculum guide.
- To develop and mail a brochure describing the workshop.

The Field Study consisted of an internship in administration. An internship in administration in the field of vocational education appeared most beneficial to interests and objectives of the writer. The internship was served under the supervision of the director of vocational education and athletics. Activities in which the writer was involved within the athletic department offered limited value towards administrative experience beyond general supervision at athletic events. These activities were not a concern of the internship, since they would not normally be responsibilities of the vocational director.
