Through this study the writer will attempt to: (1) evaluate selected instructional materials for teaching electronics that are available through the facilities of Central Washington State College, University of Washington, and Washington State University; (2) develop a list of those materials worthy of use in teaching electronics in grades seven through twelve; and (3) make recommendations for improvements in this area.

It is the purpose of this study (1) to aid the teacher of instrumental music in developing a musical approach to the teaching of snare drum using a recommended “like-grip” for holding all sticks and mallets (2) to provide the teacher of instrumental music with selected published methods and materials for developing musicianship; (3) to provide the instrumental music teacher with teaching techniques covering selected and most commonly use percussion instruments.
