Young children with disabilities have better outcomes when their families and caregivers receive the necessary resources and supports to implement high quality practices. This session will set the framework for how adults learn and how they can learn to implement new practices and modify current ones to have the greatest impact on young children.

The problem addressed by this project study was low levels of adjunct faculty compliance and satisfaction with the professional development program at a local college. The purpose of the study was to determine if an alternative delivery method would yield higher levels of compliance and satisfaction than would a traditional professional development workshop. Haitian immigrant parents often face challenges to visibly engage in their children's education in the United States due to social, cultural, and economic factors. This study addressed parent involvement (PI) among Haitian immigrant parents of adolescents in a Florida community. The purpose of this exploratory, multiple-case study was to better understand connections between immigrant Haitian parents' beliefs and learning experiences and their experiences supporting their adolescents' learning. Humane education (HE) is a specialized niche in higher education and adult learning. HE provides a curricular framework positioning environmental ethics, animal protection, human rights, media literacy, culture, and change processes as the nexus for understanding and inspiring social change. Research-derived experiences illuminating how educators conceptualize and implement HE in U.S. schools are absent from the scholarly literature. Facing this gap, practitioners and administrators of HE programs cannot access nor apply research-derived practices to inform instruction. This study aimed to assess the validity of the Andragogy in Practice Inventory (API) and to examine the relationships among adult learning principles and processes and learner satisfaction in Jordan. The results indicated that the API is a valid instrument and its components and learner satisfaction are positively related.
