This article presents a practical methodology for creating and sustaining strategic planning, the task analysis. Utilizing our Teaching & Learning Center Strategic Plan as a model, we demonstrate how working with a weekly status report provides a comprehensive listing of detail necessary to analyze and revise the plan. The new methodology is accurate, thorough, on-going, and flexible.

In 2007 the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) was commissioned to supply advice to the NSW Department of Education and Training on literacy assessment instruments suitable for students at the commencement of Year K, for use in the Best start initiative. This report outlines: the modifications made to the literacy assessments developed for the ACER Longitudinal Literacy and Numeracy Study (LLANS) to make it suitable; the testing of the literacy assessment in a sample of kindergartens in New South Wales; analysis of student results; and recommendations.

Developing learning resources forms an important part of a school mathematics curriculum implementation. This chapter argues for a change in the way we do analysis for developing learning resources. An argument is forwarded for an undertstanding of the main concepts within the topic as well as a historical and didactical analysis thereof in order to make statements with respect to the teaching and learning of the topic. This study is an extension of a Master’s study, entitled Realistic Mathematics Education and the strategies grade 8 learners develop for the solution of two simultaneous linear equations. The current study investigates how new content could be introduced into a school mathematics curriculum. The new content under discussion for this study is the topic of cryptology. This book utilizes a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to curriculum development and delivery. PBL is an inquiry-based approach that can be defined as both a curriculum and a process. The curriculum consists of carefully selected and designed problems that engage the learner in the process of acquiring critical knowledge, developing proficiency in problem solving, engaging in self-directed learning, and participating in collaborative teams. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is a multidisciplinary approach that integrates effective teaching and learning practices with computer technology.
