Shoulders and Krei (2015) conducted a study which revealed that for teachers to be effective in their role, students must be engaged in their learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects classroom engagement strategies have on student behavior. There will be three engagement strategies implemented throughout this study, these include turn and talks, cold calling, and Whole Brain Teaching strategies. Behaviors that will be analyzed include on-task versus off-task behavior and overall student participation.
