The stories and lived experiences of Early Career Special Education Teachers must be shared. This study provides more information on the beginning lived experiences of Special Education Teachers during COVID-19. The researcher conducted a qualitative narrative design to further investigate burnout and self-efficacy among Early Career Special Education Teachers. The researcher conducted an open-ended question interview that allowed participants to relive their experience teaching during COVID-19. The conclusion of this study is that Special Education Teachers love their job but seek more financial security, administrative support and guidance, recognition.

This dissertation looked at the gap in pre-service general education teacher training in EBP for students with Autism and the effect the creative art learning mindfulness instructional toolkit (calmit19) intervention has on teacher self-efficacy when working with students with Autism.

Currently there is GAP, in the coursework that general education k-6 pre-service teacher candidates are getting trained in in order to teach students with autism in the general classroom setting. This action research study findings were that there is a need for additional training methods for pre service k-6 teacher candidates in art based evidence-based strategies.

Over the years, a marked increase in the number of students with High Functioning Autism (HFA) attending colleges and universities has occurred. This can be attributed to: (a) the passage of legislation such as the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); (b) revisions to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM); and (c) early intervention and treatment (Pillay, 2012). This qualitative study examined the effects of Transition Services on the quality of life of special needs students. Selected parents, students, and district school employees were interviewed, observed, and presented with questionnaires in an investigation into the effects of Transition Services on the quality of life for post-high school special needs students. Data was transcribed, coded, triangulated, and analyzed to understand what effect Transition Services actually had on quality of life of these students. Disabilities affect 54 million people and 4.4 million children in the U.S. and are of importance to special education faculty (Center for Disease Control 2000). A survey design examines the effectiveness of human-animal interaction, specifically horseback riding, in children with varying disabilities.

Therapeutic horseback riding as an animal assisted therapy, aims to promote mind and body integration through movement (psychomotricity) and the human-animal bond (Delta Society, 2001a; Spink, 1993, All, Loving & Crane, 1999). Effectiveness is measured by parent assessment of improvement in 67 child behaviors resulting from child participation in horseback riding, using a new Horseback Riding Survey. Behaviors …

Implementing Dansereau's Murder Technique To Teach Learning Disabled Students, Susan Fuller Pope

High School learning disabled students were taught prefix and suffix meanings from an adaption of Donald Dansereau's MURDER strategy in cooperative learning groups. Two groups participated in a two week long study, with only one group using the MURDER strategy. The results were measured with post-test scores in a Pearson product moment correlation matrix and indicated that there was no correlation between using the MURDER strategy and being taught with standardized worksheets. However, students who were engaged in the MURDER technique, scored higher on their post-tests than those who did not. In addition, the students scored higher between pretests and …
