Implementation Of Training To Address Staff Perceptions Of Co-Teaching, Kimberly Ortloff

Culminating Projects in Special Education

In reviewing the literature available about co-teaching, teachers have varying experiences and attitudes towards the practice. Teachers report benefits and challenges to co-teaching. Their approach, their training, and the support they receive from administration impact their attitudes and experiences towards co-teaching. The purpose of this paper is twofold; (1) to collect and examine the experiences with co-teaching that teachers report, and (2) to determine what training might address the challenges that co-teachers face. This information will be used to implement better training for co-teachers in order to maximize the effect of this instructional approach.
