The paper x-rays the extent of automation in South East Nigerian libraries. Ex-post-factor research method was adopted for the study involving the study of 35 libraries in the South Eastern geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The study revealed that out of six public and five ministries of Education /Information libraries, none is automated. It also revealed that out of the 24 academic libraries, only two are automated.
