The purpose of this study was to identify communication concerns and develop recommendations for improving communication within the academic com- munity at the University of the Pacific.

The subjects were 165 randomly selected members of the academic commun- ity of the University of the Pacific. The sample represented the following academic categories: university president, academic vice-president, deans/ provosts, crpartment chairmen, and faculty.

Data were gathered with a survey instrument designed by the author to specifically elicit communication information for the study. The instrument contained 60 items with a response continum of strongly agree (SA), agree (A), disagree (DA), and strongly …

The purpose of this study is threefold. One is to find out if a positive self concept develops when four and five year old nursery school children are exposed to sensory activities, and secondly, to compare this growth with four and five year old nursery school children who have not participated in such a program.

The third purpose is to find out if the younger children have a greater growth toward positive self concept than the older children.

Self-Monitoring And Self-Reinforcement Applied To Junior College Study Behavior, Thomas A. Cesa

Although previous research has shown the efficacy of self-control techniques such as self-monitoring and self-reinforcement in changing study behavior, the adequacy of the experimental procedures utilized in many studies may be questioned. This experiment re-examined the effects these operant conditioning procedures had on the study behavior of junior college evening students by using three groups of subjects exposed to different combinations of self-control techniques.

Control Group subjects recorded their new thoughts (ideas relating the course material to their everyday lives) in an attempt to control for the effects of novel procedures, motivation and other non-specific variables. Self-Monitoring Group subjects complied …
