The purposes of this paper will be (1) to present selected biological principles pertaining to evolution, (2) to indicate curricular areas in the high school into which general aspects of evolution might be integrated, and (3) to denote specific phases of biology especially suited for teaching particular principles.

This paper presents a survey study of the present status of scouting in Washington, Class AA, high school wrestling. The study through the use of a questionnaire and personal interview, was designed to reveal the experience level of coaches, the use of scouting, and the method of scouting in Washington State. Complex chi square was used to evaluate the relationship between coaching experience and the use of scouting. The relationship did not prove significant at the five percent level.

This study compares and evaluates the ideas and opinions of practitioners with the ideas and opinions of educational theorists. Information from the practitioners was gathered by questionnaire. Information from the theorists was gathered by a search of the related literature. The findings, showing the relationship or textbooks to the development of course content in the teaching of small gas engines, are presented and evaluated. A small gas engines textbook outline based on information gained from this study is also presented.
