The purpose of this literature review was to determine the most effective ways to build relationships with parents of English Language Learner (ELL) students and how to overcome the language barrier when creating these relationships. How Doctoral Students In A Formal Leadership Program Conceptualize Followership: A Mixed-Methods Study, Katy J. Johnson

The purpose of this exploratory mixed-methods study was to determine how doctoral students in a formal leadership program conceptualize followership. The methods used to conduct this analysis included distributing a Qualtrics (released in August 2022) survey and conducting one-on-one interviews with a sample of degree-seeking doctoral students within a formal leadership program. The researcher collected quantitative and qualitative data addressing students’ followership style, leadership attitudes and beliefs, and perceptions of followership. These data were analyzed concurrently using a triangulation design. A total of 67 students completed the survey, and seven students were interviewed. Minnesota School-Based Agricultural Education (SBAE) leaders have observed a resistance among SBAE teachers to accept positions that include numerous agricultural mechanics preps. This study proposes to identify the factors that predict an individual's desire to (or not to) deliver agricultural mechanics courses. All Minnesota SBAE teachers were surveyed in the fall of 2022 using a researcher-designed instrument which was tested for validity and reliability. A 76.69% response rate (N = 250) was achieved for the emailed survey. In the state of Minnesota, more children who use a language other than English were reported to speak English less than “very well” (U.S. Census Bureau, 2020). There was neither a “gold standard” (Verdon, McLeod, & Wong, 2013), nor Preferred Practices (ASHA, 2020) for the treatment of speech-language disorders for children who were bilingual. The current study investigated the practices for treating speech-language disorders in this population by SLPs employed in schools in a region of west-central MN and eastern ND. This mixed methods quasi-experimental phenomenological study investigated the impact that a SmartLab® implementation had on four rural schools in the state of North Dakota. This study featured semi structured interview questions for facilitators, semi-structured focus group questions for students, and a digital literacy pre and post assessment (DLA) that was administered to students. This study looked at student learning in terms of twenty-first century skills, teacher and student perspectives in terms of student learning as well as teacher perspectives on the impact of the SmartLab® on their own teaching methods.

Family engagement in schools is examined concerning its benefits, characteristics, common barriers, and how it can be developed. There is a consensus that increased family engagement leads to a better overall educational performance from students. Family engagement literature does well in describing the benefits, characteristics, and common barriers to family engagement. However, to gain a complete understanding of how family engagement in schools can be promoted, further research needs to look at various measures that have proven to be effective.
