Drowning amongst older people is a growing concern. Exploring demographic and other factors associated with unintentional drowning incidents amongst older adults may assist to identify key target groups and refine prevention strategies. This study sought to examine the heterogeneity of older individuals who have drowned and identify population subgroups in Western Australia (WA). A cluster analysis was used to segment the population by examining coronial data 2001-2018 (n = 93). Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common eyelid malignancy, accounting for approximately 90% of malignant eyelid lesions.¹ Despite its high occurrence rates, it is frequently misdiagnosed as one of the benign “lumps and bumps” that can be present on the eyelid. Background: Traditionally, eyecare providers employ a wait-and-see approach with respect to older patients presenting with a presumed vasculopathic isolated sixth nerve palsy. However, given review of recent literature and the potential of morbidity in these patients, acute neuroimaging should be strongly considered. Eyecare providers are often faced with challenging decisions when patients present with acute isolated oculomotor nerve palsies. This case highlights the diagnostic dilemma of an older patient with significant vasculopathic risk factors who presents with an isolated sixth nerve palsy. Background: Congenital optic disc pits (ODP) are a rare clinical finding affecting approximately 1 in 11,000 people. Affected individuals are generally asymptomatic unless fluid accumulates in the macula resulting in severe vision loss. The management of ODPs depends mostly on clinical findings and can range from observation to surgery. Optometrists need to be aware of clinical presentations and possible complications of ODPs.

Case Report: This report will review a case of an asymptomatic optic disc pit and discuss the potential treatment options if complications arise.

Background and Evidence Problem: As the population ages, there is an increase in the incidents of falls. Falls are the predominant cause of both nonfatal and fatal injuries among adults aged 65 years and older (Bergen et al., 2016). Extensive research has been conducted in fall prevention in hospitals, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation units. End-of-life care in a hospice setting presents a greater challenge in risk identification and prevention of falls. A local hospice had 457 falls between July 2018 to mid-March 2019 with a lack of consistent, detailed, fall education and documentation.

In 9-1-1 call centers across the nation the personnel shortage has become a crisis. The nature of the job of a 9-1-1 telecommunicator is stressful due to the high volume of emergency calls. This applied dissertation was designed to learn if there is a relationship between job stress, burnout levels, and job satisfaction in 9-1-1 telecommunicators. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of interprofessional socialization among health profession students. Background: Research investigating predictors of academic success in rigorous health science education is valuable for curricular intervention for identified at-risk students. Various predictors of success have been investigated, but the literature is insufficient when examining anatomy and physiology readiness scores as they correlate to radiography curricular success. This pilot study assessed the correlation between readiness exam scores and programmatic course GPA to determine if the scores could be used as a metric for identifying academic success resources for incoming students.
