It was the purpose of this study (1) to examine the attitudes of principals as to whether they saw their roles changing as a result of professional negotiations, (2) to show how the principals felt their roles would be changed, (3) to examine which type or group of principals felt most threatened by professional negotiations, and (4) what stratagem principals may follow in the future as a reaction to teacher militancy.

The purpose of this study was to take one definable personality pattern, open and closed mindedness, and to see if this dimension is reflected in ordinal birth position, specifically first- and later-born. The literature reviewed in this study appears to describe the first-born very much like Rokeach (1960) describes his closed-minded person. Further, the description of the later-born is very much in line with Rokeach's description of the open-minded person.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible effects of auditory and visual distraction on the simple reaction time performance of normal and mentally retarded high school students. Specifically, these tests were concerned with assessing the effect of various combinations of loud popular music and bright flashing lights upon an individual's ability to attend to a simple reaction test device.

In summary, the findings of this study are that the mountain beaver does exhibit preferences in his food habits. It selects for food just less than one-half of the available plant species. Three species are preferred over all others selected for food, those species being sword-fern, salal, and brake-fern.
