Digital learning professionals and faculty are navigating turbulent waters in higher education’s current climate fueled by career reflections and the political landscape. All that is needed to improve the organizational climate is the inspiration to engage in meaningful digital learning work, whether enhancing course interactions, engaging students, uncovering course modality best practices, or improving access to higher education. True to our mission, we adapt, lead change, and persist.
Pandemic Problems For Pre-Service Teacher’S Practicums ... Solved, Zachary Stepp
Pandemic Problems For Pre-Service Teacher’S Practicums ... Solved, Zachary Stepp
FDLA Journal
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, this graduate instructor leveraged the digital world to connect preservice elementary mathematics teachers (PSTs) to students to provide an online learning community. The PSTs applied our content and methods course to teaching online and learned valuable lessons from interacting with the students. The elementary students received additional attention, interaction, and knowledge from the PSTs. As for myself, I learned persistence pays off and pays out to everyone involved.

A college of nursing at a large southern university created a completely online graduate degree and online certificate related to healthcare simulation. In the organizational and operations simulation course, a paper/pencil assignment course was replaced with the use of an innovative online specialty software, i.e., widget, which allowed students the opportunity to design to scale a simulation space. The collaborative team of nursing and university technology and learning faculty jointly designed and created the widget. The purpose of this study was to describe the assignment and widget development and then to discuss the study to determine the usability and student …

Making the decision to pursue an advanced degree is certainly commendable. To add to one’s knowledge base is ambitious and the results of such a commitment are monumental. However, it goes without saying that in that scheme, life’s challenges are ever-present, and along with other given responsibilities, the concept of time becomes a faded memory. If that is not enough, COVID-19 presented all degree-seekers with issues that seemed insurmountable. Many decided that virtual learning programs would provide an environment that allowed for success in the academic arena despite the forces that …
Ineffective Practice And Lack Of Motivation Of The Junior High School Athletes For Physical Training In Preparation For City Meet And Evraa, Louie P. Gula
FDLA Journal
This study aimed to identify the factors that lead to the ineffective practice and the decreasing motivation of the junior high school athletes for the physical training in preparation for City Meet and EVRAA. To point out the several factors contributing to the problem, the researcher used the Ishikawa diagram. An Ishikawa diagram is a visual representation that graphically depicts the relationships between a certain result and its causes. The studied effect or negative problem is called "the fish head," and the potential causes and sub-causes are called "the fishbone structure." It was found out that people as a factor, …

Getting a graduate education is one of the most important parts of a professional in a field. It allows them to climb higher in the professional rankings or even get higher pay for their academic work. All graduate students are adults and self-directed due to their past experiences in work or practice. However, when the pandemic hit the world, these self-directed learners were not spared from shutting of schools. In the Philippines, most graduate schools deliver their lessons through the traditional mode or face-to-face until the pandemic that they shifted in the emerging online learning modality. Using the mixed method …

Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) are an increasingly utilized model for exposing students to research. The lack of robust assessments is a major hurdle to wider adoption of CUREs. The Coronavirus Infectious Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic necessitated a drastic shift of in-person courses to the online format. Using the Participant Perception Indicator (PPI) survey, we measured students’ self-reported changes in learning from such a biochemistry course at a large university in south Florida based on the Biochemistry Authentic Scientific Inquiry Lab (BASIL) model. By doing this, we were able to better understand the student-benefits of CUREs and how these benefits …
The Application Of Virtual Reality Scenarios Coupled With Education And Recognition Of Soul Injury Can Promote Pathways Of Care For Healthcare Workers And The Public Affected By The Present Covid-19 Pandemic And Subsequent Variants., Jamie Anne Marcus
FDLA Journal
Historical learning from the 1918 Pandemic assists with grasping and focus of the present one. Engaging multi-disciplinary healthcare students in virtual reality scenarios with visual inclusion of Soul Injury staging will promote new pathways of care for healthcare workers, families, and the public affected by the present Pandemic. Virtual reality scenario simulation success is supported by social presence, social learning, and media richness theories. The Covid-19 and variant Pandemics effects include, insurmountable loss of life, loss of economic stability, loss of normal lifestyle, family function, and culture. Therefore, development of The Soul-Injury-Pathway-of-Care for patients, ancillary healthcare workers, families, and the …
