Background: With over six million Americans currently living with dementia, it is crucial for prelicensure nursing programs to prepare registered nurses to provide quality care to individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Due to the challenges associated with providing face-to-face clinical experiential learning, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual simulation approaches are now being used as alternative or complementary clinical experiential teaching/learning methods.

Proper prenatal education causes resolution of misconceptions as well as causes patients to be more satisfied with their pain management during labor. The researchers used a design science research approach to create a virtual environment where nursing students could practice managing a patient with a foreign object in the right lung. The Northcentral University (NCU) Library is a 100 percent online library providing services and delivering resources to students in a remote context. According to university facts and figures, approximately 98 percent of students are enrolled in a graduate program and nearly 69 percent of those students are pursuing a doctoral degree. PhD students have unique needs and require different resources and services from the library than undergraduates, which is especially true of professionals in a nursing program. As clinicians, many do not have experience with the research and writing intensive requirements of a doctoral degree. The majority have not taken classes for years, and their master’s degrees were more hands-on, clinically-based. They often do not feel confident in their ability to search the literature, read closely, or write expansively.
