Hand hygiene is a hot topic all the time since it is a simple yet effective way to prevent infection. For the staff who work in the hospital, they need to perform hand hygiene thousands of times. Hospital-acquired infections are caused by viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens. The most common types of infections are bloodstream infections, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and surgical site infections. There are many articles that emphasize the benefits of hand hygiene and the decreasing rates of hospital-acquired infections.
