Preferential Food Habits Of Aplodontia Rufa, Lennis Orville Allen

In summary, the findings of this study are that the mountain beaver does exhibit preferences in his food habits. It selects for food just less than one-half of the available plant species. Three species are preferred over all others selected for food, those species being sword-fern, salal, and brake-fern.

Plants For Classroom Use, Elizabeth Wagner Reed

Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science

The importance of having living plants in the classroom is emphasized. Ways of coping with environmental problems of classroom heal and dryness are outlined, including the making of terraria. Varieties of plants found suitable for the classroom and laboratory are described.
