Human interaction with the aquatic environment has always taken different forms to meet the needs of pleasure, survival, therapy or performance. The diversity of existing aquatic spaces presents itself as a challenge, due to their variety, dynamism, unpredictability and unrepeatable conditions. Using Extension As A Vehicle To Reduce Elementary Student Food Waste, Rebecca Koetz, Rod N. Williams

Extension can play a key role in providing food waste education nation-wide. This study is the first to evaluate the effects of environmentally focused lesson plans on elementary student knowledge and perceptions regarding food waste. Herein we provide suggestions on concepts to teach students for the greatest impact on food waste reduction. We also provide avenues to incorporate food waste education into existing Extension programming. We hope the study can inspire and inform further food waste program development, assessment, and implementation through Extension.

Wastewater and household trash have become serious problems in major Indonesian cities due to the lack of environmental education for children and society as a whole. This paper will examine the urban lifestyle and the processing of waste, followed by an analysis of problem-based learning (PBL) experiments in elementary schools in various cities. The analysis will be supplemented with a questionnaire distributed to the students before and after the PBL trial.
