It is the purpose of this study to determine the taxonomy, distribution, and ecology of four species of the genus Microtus and one species of the genus Lagurus found in Kittitas County. The species of Microtus are: Microtus montanus, Montane vole; Microtus oregoni, Creeping Vole; Microtus longicaudus, Long-Tailed Vole and Microtus richardsoni, Water Vole. The species of Lagurus is Lagurus curtatus, Sagebrush Vole.

The purpose of this study is to discover the influence exerted by the family, the peer group, and the community, on adolescent smoking. The study will attempt to prove that (1) the environment with the greatest discontinuity, as reflected in the variation of standards and attitudes toward adult and adolescent smoking, will be the most conducive to adolescent smoking; (2) that the frequency of adolescent smoking is directly related to the feeling and attitude his peer group holds toward adolescent smoking.
