Blended learning helps to improve teaching and learning in high school classrooms; however, there is minimal understanding of how teacher self-efficacy influences their use of blended learning in their teaching. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to generate a more in-depth understanding of how high school teachers within a rural school district perceive their self-efficacy to influence their implementation of blended learning and how they apply the TPACK model to guide their pedagogy. Millions of dollars have been spent to acquire educational computing tools, and many education, government, and business leaders believe that investing in these computing tools will improve teaching and learning. The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine whether charter school educators face technological barriers hindering them from incorporating technology into their classrooms. If they experienced self-efficacy issues integrating technology in their classrooms and if they believed their students were technologically prepared as 21st century professionals.
