This statement of Investment Guidelines and Objectives was developed to assist the University of Maine System (UMS) in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities related to funds held for others and for the conservation and use of the assets of the Endowment Fund. The University of Maine System Non-Contributory Retirement Fund, (the "Fund") is a defined benefit pension fund that is intended to provide retirement benefits to participants in accordance with the benefit structure established by the University of Maine System Board of Trustees. The Fund is governed by the terms of its governing plan document and other applicable laws. The investments of the Fund will be made for the exclusive benefit of Plan participants and beneficiaries.
